Gala Wine News - May 2019:
Following on from our success of last years Black Label Estate Pinot Noir, and it being named one of James Halliday's 25 Great Reds, our Black Label 2016 Pinot Noir has landed. She made her debut appearance in Hong Kong and amazingly this young lady won a Gold Medal. The CWSA is the biggest and most prestigious wine and spirits competition in Hong Kong and China.
As we continue to strive to produce some of the the best wines in Tasmania, the quality of our wines continue to grow and exceed our expectations. These more premium offerings are now showcased in the Black Label. This is where the best of our Estate fruit is further elevated by extensive barrel selection and maturation, resulting in stunning feminine examples of varietal wines oozing finesse and power.
We are thrilled by how the Black Label 2017 Estate Chardonnay is delighting customers at the cellar door, with it's rich ripe stone fruit, a hint of butter and hazelnuts. A taut wine with great length and energy. It's taken us 6 vintages to achieve the quality we have been seeking and we are delighted to finally be able to share her!
We also have a Black Label 2017 Estate Pinot Gris that has taken our hugely successful Pinot Gris to new heights. A Pinot Gris packed with flavour and intensity that implores you to sip again! There's only 300 bottles - so first in best dressed!
Our White Label Range is our everyday drinking wine. This current vintage 2018 has been exceptional, with the Sauvignon Blanc winning a Gold Medal at the National Cool Climate Wine Show in October at Bathurst. Then our 2018 Pinot Gris took out a Gold and Trophy for Best Pinot Gris at the Tasmanian Wine Show in January 2019. For those of you in warmer climates the Pinot Rose is always a winner.
As always, if you like the wines, please leave us a review so other members might be enticed to try something new!
Autumn club choices are now open. We hope you find a treasure!
